Description
University Physicians' Association (UPA) is excited to welcome a Certified Medical Assistant or Medical Assistant to join the Rocky Hill Family Physicians team in West Knoxville. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate, detail-oriented healthcare professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being a vital part of the patient care experience. In this role, you will work closely with providers and clinical staff to deliver timely, high-quality care, ensuring patients feel supported, informed, and prioritized throughout their healthcare journey.
What You'll Do
Serve as a key clinical contact by triaging patient phone calls and assessing levels of care
Accurately document symptoms, medical history, and current health concerns in the EMR
Communicate test results and provide clear patient instructions
Manage prescription refills in accordance with compliance and protocol
Assist with scheduling, prior authorizations, and obtaining pre-certifications for imaging (MRI, CT)
Coordinate care while maintaining professional, compassionate relationships with patients, families, and providers
Support daily clinic operations with additional clinical and administrative tasks as needed.
Schedule
Full-time
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
No evenings or weekends

Requirements
What We're Looking For
Minimum 3 years of prior medical experience
Certified Medical Assistant Credential Preferred
Experience with electronic medical records
Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
Ability to stay focused, accurate, and calm in a busy clinical setting
A patient-first mindset and collaborative team approach
