The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment while collaborating with internal teams.

    • Assist with resolving coding-related claim edits, denials, or payer inquiries

    • Maintain knowledge of current coding guidelines, payer policies, and regulatory updates

    • Work within our EHR (updating codes and charges directly within the EHR system)

    • Collaborate with billing and clinical teams to support efficient revenue cycle operations

    Qualifications

    • Active certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent credential

    • Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding principles

    • Urgent care coding experience preferred but not required

    • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

    • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining productivity and accuracy

    • Strong communication and organizational skills

    Work Location

This is a full-time hybrid role. The Certified Medical Coder will work remotely and report to our downtown Birmingham office once per week.
