Wellspring Lutheran Services is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving seniors, families and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Covenant Skilled Nursing and Rehab at Wellspring team in Saginaw.
Responsibilities
Provide individualized attention to encourage each resident's independence and overall well-being.
Follow and support the resident’s individualized care plan; provide observations and input to care planning staff.
Maintain resident comfort, privacy, and dignity; interact with residents in a warm, Christ-centered manner.
Abide by all residents' rights, including being free of restraints and abuse; promptly report any concerns to charge nurse or administration.
Protect residents’ personal belongings and report missing items according to policy.
Assist residents with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, and other ADLs.
Maintain skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage.
Respond to resident call lights promptly and courteously.
Perform tasks assigned by supervisors including preparing residents for visits, collecting vitals, weights, specimens, and reporting resident information.
Lift, move, and transport residents using proper body mechanics or lifting devices.
Work past normal shift hours as needed to assure resident care and safety coverage.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in good standing with the State of Michigan (required).
Experience with seniors in long-term care or rehab preferred.
Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented.
Ability to work night shift, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Schedule and Compensation
Employment type: Part -time
Shift: Day Shift, 12-hour shifts (6:00am – 6:00pm),
Weekends/Holiday: Every 3rd weekend and every 3rd holiday.
Starting pay:$19.40 - $20.38 / hour, based on experience.
Weekly meetings and ongoing training opportunities.
