We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). ILS, along with its affiliated health plans known as Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, is committed to promoting a higher quality of life and maximizing independence for all vulnerable populations.
About the Role:
The Certified Nursing Assistant plays an essential role in delivering compassionate and high-quality care to members in various healthcare settings. This position involves assisting members with daily living activities, monitoring their health status, and providing support to nursing staff to ensure optimal member outcomes. The Certified Nursing Assistant serves as a link between members and the healthcare team, helping to maintain member comfort, dignity, and safety. Through direct member interaction, Certified Nursing Assistants contribute to the overall care plan by observing and reporting changes in member conditions promptly. Ultimately, this role is essential in fostering a supportive environment that promotes healing and well-being for members under their care.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) recognized by the state of employment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited CNA training program.
Basic understanding of medical terminology and member care procedures.
Ability to pass a background check and meet health screening requirements.
Relevant education may substitute for educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a healthcare setting such as a hospital, nursing home, or assisted living facility.
CPR and First Aid certification.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Additional training or certification in specialized care areas such as geriatrics or rehabilitation.
Responsibilities:
Assist members with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility.
Monitor and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
Provide emotional support and companionship to members, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
Assist nursing staff with medical procedures and member care tasks as directed.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for members by following infection control protocols.
Report any changes in member condition or behavior to the nursing team promptly.
Help with member transfers and positioning to prevent bedsores and promote circulation.
