Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Part-TimeLocation: Murfreesboro, TNJob SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing home health team in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), the COTA will provide skilled occupational therapy services in patients' homes, helping individuals improve functional independence, safety, and overall quality of life.This position offers a flexible part-time schedule and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering patient-centered care in a home health setting.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesImplement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.Provide occupational therapy interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), functional mobility, strength, coordination, balance, and fine motor skills.Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment, home safety techniques, and strategies that promote independence.Monitor patient progress and communicate treatment outcomes, concerns, and changes in condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist.Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to support positive patient outcomes.Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and continuing education activities as needed.Follow all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and professional standards.QualificationsRequiredAssociate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.Current Tennessee license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).Current CPR/BLS certification.Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance.Ability to travel throughout the Murfreesboro service area.PreferredNBCOT certification.Previous home health experience.Experience working with adult and geriatric populations.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong understanding of occupational therapy principles and treatment techniques.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with the supervising Occupational Therapist.Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills.Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift, transfer, reposition, and assist patients as necessary.Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.Ability to safely transport therapy equipment and supplies.Ability to navigate various residential environments.Work EnvironmentServices are provided in patients' homes throughout Murfreesboro and surrounding communities.Frequent local travel is required.Work is performed independently in a variety of home settings.May encounter stairs, pets, varying home conditions, and environmental factors typical of residential care.Must be able to adapt treatment approaches to support patient safety and achieve therapeutic goals in the home environment.SchedulePart-TimeFlexible weekday scheduleHours based on patient census and availabilityEqual Opportunity EmployerWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace.
