Job Summary
The Greek American Rehabilitation and Care Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a per diem basis.
The COTA will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality occupational therapy services to residents and patients. This position is ideal for a COTA seeking a flexible schedule while making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals receiving rehabilitation and long-term care services.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Assist residents and patients with improving functional skills and independence in activities of daily living.
- Provide therapeutic activities, exercises, and functional training based on individual patient needs.
- Assist patients in improving strength, coordination, balance, mobility, and overall functional performance.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and communicate changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Document treatments, patient progress, and responses accurately and in a timely manner.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding therapeutic techniques and strategies as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Promote patient safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life.
- Follow facility policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain professional and positive relationships with residents, families, coworkers, and healthcare providers.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification.
- Current Illinois COTA license/registration or eligibility to practice in Illinois.
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Previous experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, or geriatric care is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Dependable, compassionate, and patient-centered.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Per Diem Position
