Certified Phlebotomist

Cahaba Dermatology is seeking an experienced phlebotomist to join our growing healthcare team.

Our phlebotomists will perform routine blood draws and assist with medical office tasks.

Phlebotomist Job Responsibilities

• Performs routine blood draws
• Ensures specimen centrifugation and storage requirements are maintained through the pre-analytical process
• Delivers samples to lab technical testing departments for analysis
• Verifies and documents patient demographics, insurance information, lab orders, provider information, etc., in EMR system
• Interacts with patients and customers in a courteous and professional manner
• Assists in maintaining lab and clinic supplies inventory
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job

Position Qualifications
Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong work ethic and interpersonal communication skills
• Proven experience as a phlebotomist
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
• Strict adherence to safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques
• Must be willing to travel to Tuscaloosa & Cahaba Heights locations as needed

Preferred

• Phlebotomy Technician certification or license
• Medical Assistant Certification
• One year of inpatient phlebotomy experience in an acute care setting
• Dermatology experience
• EHR/EMR experience, specifically ModMed/EMA
