Required Skills & Experience:
" Minimum 4 years of CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) experience REQUIRED
" Experience in both cardiovascular and endovascular procedures REQUIRED
" Current Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) REQUIRED
" BLS certification through AHA REQUIRED
Job Description:
" Assists surgeons during cardiovascular and endovascular surgical procedures in the CVOR.
" Prepares and maintains sterile field, instruments, and surgical supplies for cardiac cases.
" Performs surgical scrub duties for procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, and vascular interventions.
" Anticipates surgeon needs and ensures proper instrumentation and equipment availability during procedures.
" Assists with patient positioning, prepping, and draping in accordance with surgical protocols.
" Ensures all equipment is functioning properly, including heart-lung machines support setup (as applicable).
" Maintains strict adherence to infection control and sterile processing standards.
" Collaborates with RNs, surgeons, and anesthesia team to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety.
" Participates in on-call rotation for emergency cardiac and vascular surgeries.
" Assists with turnover, cleaning, and restocking of operating room between cases.
" Strong sterile technique and cardiac scrub experience
" Ability to handle high-acuity cardiac cases in a fast-paced OR environment
" Experience assisting in open heart and vascular surgeries
