Job Summary and Qualifications
The Certified Surgical Technician (CST)is an active member of the nursing team in the Operating Room. The CST functions under the direct supervision of the OR nurse. He/she is responsible forassisting the OR nurse in assessing the needs of the patients, infancy through life span, and for organizing and planning care sufficient to meet identified needs during the intra-operative phase, by performing technical duties as assigned. The surgical scrub tech will be cross-trained/oriented to Endoscopy. The CST may be asked to precept/mentor other individuals within their realm of expertise.
Participates in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement. Maintains appropriate awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and all other customers. Promotes a supportive, teamwork-oriented environment. Fulfills departmental responsibilities with the long-range plan, mission, vision and values of Horizon
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
