    About Company

KTA-Tator, Inc., is a Consulting/Engineering firm founded in 1949 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our main specialty is consulting and inspection in the protective coatings and construction industries.

Coatings, otherwise known as paint, are found in every aspect of our society today: on beverage cans, on automobiles, in houses and other buildings, on bridges, inside and outside of storage tanks, on pipes, on trains, and airplanes and much more.

KTA's specific expertise lies in our extensive knowledge of the many different kinds of paints/coatings which exist, their performance characteristics, what they're made of, and the best uses for each.

For 60 years, KTA has retained a staff of the coating industry's top professionals making it the largest and best trained professional staff of any independent coatings/corrosion consulting organization. The staff includes professional engineers, senior coatings and environmental consultants, certified protective coatings specialists, chemists, certified coatings inspectors, steel fabrication inspection services, certified industrial hygienists, and certified safety professionals. KTA currently has over 250 employees at its various locations. This diversification provides the breadth and depth of services to clients for all of their corrosion-related products and services.
