Chief Financial Officer

A well-established, physician-led healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial leadership and oversee the organization’s financial operations and fiscal management.

This executive will serve as a key advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and executive leadership team, while partnering closely with physicians and operational leaders across the organization. The CFO will be responsible for developing and executing financial strategies that support long-term growth, operational excellence, physician-owner interests, and the organization’s overall mission.

The ideal candidate will bring strong healthcare finance experience, executive leadership capabilities, strategic business acumen, and the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with organizational goals, growth initiatives, and long-term objectives.

• Provide executive oversight of financial administration, general accounting, patient accounting, revenue cycle, budgeting, and financial reporting.

• Serve as a strategic financial advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, executive leadership team, and physician stakeholders.

• Lead and develop financial teams, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth.

• Provide financial oversight and strategic guidance for new and existing clinical programs.

• Partner with joint venture relationships and external stakeholders related to value-based care and other strategic initiatives.

• Evaluate accounting and patient accounting processes to strengthen internal controls, improve cash flow, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.

• Direct the preparation and analysis of financial and operating reports used to support organizational planning and decision-making.

• Analyze financial performance, identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommend strategies to improve profitability and operational performance.

• Lead financial planning and analysis for capital expenditures, equipment acquisitions, construction projects, facility expansions, and real estate opportunities.

• Oversee central support budgeting, financial governance, resource allocation, and budget discipline across departments and business units.

• Identify and evaluate alternative revenue opportunities, including real estate investments, ancillary services, joint ventures, and management/service arrangements.

• Ensure financial decisions involving capital allocation, compensation, distributions, and expense management appropriately consider physician-owner economics and long-term organizational sustainability.

• Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and industry requirements.

• Establish and monitor key financial and operational metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement.

• Build strong relationships throughout the organization and serve as a trusted resource on financial and business matters.

• Partner with key stakeholders to develop and implement financial best practices, policies, procedures, and performance standards.

Qualifications

• 
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

  
  
• 
  

• Master’s degree/MBA preferred.

  
  
• 
  

• 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, healthcare finance, patient accounting, or related areas.

  
  
• 
  

• At least 5 years of senior-level or executive financial leadership experience, preferably within a healthcare environment.

  
  
• 
  

• Strong understanding of healthcare financial operations, budgeting, financial reporting, and performance management.

  
  
• 
  

• Experience with revenue cycle and patient accounting strongly preferred.

  
  
• 
  

• Experience with Epic Resolute Professional Billing is a plus.

  
  
•
