Murl's Kitchen is seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Chef / Head Chef to lead kitchen operations across our restaurant and expanding food truck business. This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who loves bold flavors, high-volume service, team leadership, and the chance to help shape the future of a growing Caribbean culinary brand.

We're looking for someone who can bring consistency, innovation, and strong kitchen management while honoring the authentic flavors that our customers know and love.

The Executive Chef will oversee all back-of-house operations, including food preparation, quality control, inventory management, staff development, catering production, and menu execution.

This individual will be responsible for maintaining high culinary standards while helping drive operational excellence and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
Culinary Leadership
  • Lead daily kitchen operations for restaurant, catering, and food truck service
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all menu items
  • Maintain authentic Caribbean and Jamaican flavors while contributing creative menu ideas
  • Develop seasonal specials and new menu offerings
Team Management
  • Recruit, train, coach, and supervise kitchen staff
  • Create a positive, professional, and accountable kitchen culture
Operations & Food Safety
  • Ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, and food safety regulations
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization
  • Manage food preparation processes and production timelines
  • Monitor portion control and waste reduction
Inventory & Cost Control
  • Manage food ordering and vendor relationships
  • Track inventory levels and food costs
  • Implement systems to maximize profitability and reduce waste
Catering & Events
  • Oversee preparation for catering orders and food truck events
  • Coordinate production for large-scale events and festivals
  • Ensure timely execution of all off-site operations
