Chemical Operator

Our client in the Pittsburgh Area is seeking a Chemical Operator

Duties:

- Operate a variety of chemical process equipment, including:
- Reaction systems
- Distillation systems
- Extractors
- Autoclaves
- Reactors
- Pumps
- Centrifuges

- Inspect process equipment for mechanical defects and malfunctions.
- Train operations personnel
- Monitor and record Chemical reactions, Gauge readings, Production shifts, Equipment malfunctions
- Supervise and coordinate chemical operations and employee activities during assigned shift.
- Draw product samples and perform quality control tests to verify product meets specifications.
- Recommend improvements to Production methods & Equipment performance





Requirements:

- High School diploma, Associates or higher preferred
- Individual must have excellent mathematical and reading skills.
- Proficient mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity is essential.
- Occasional lifting requirement of 50 lbs from the knees and waist.
- Incumbent must have adequate eyesight in order to inspect and describe reactions.
- The ability to wear a respirator while performing certain job functions is essential.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
