Russell Tobin is partnering with a materials science company to identify a Chemist for an opportunity in Maplewood, MN.

Maplewood, MN
Duration: 12+ Months with potential for extension
Pay rate: $24—35/Hr.  (Based on Experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute wet chemistry techniques focusing on Titrations, support Inductively Coupled Plasma and Ion Chromatography, including sample preparation, data analysis and use of Metrohm software.
• Maintain solvent and mobile phases, ensuring consistency and quality.
• High-volume of sample, stock standard and solution preparation with precision (molarity, normality, and dilutions).
• Document preparation and experimental parameters accurately, following written procedures (test methods, SOPs) utilizing LIMS systems for documentation and data management.
• Create written procedures, reports, and documentation.

Requirements:

• BA/BS chemistry degree with 3+ years industrial laboratory expertise in Titration, experience in Inductively Coupled Plasma and Ion Chromatography, other general laboratory techniques
• Experience with automated titrations, including direct and back titrations.
• Experience with acid/base, redox, and anion titrations.
• Karl Fischer moisture analysis experience using coulometric, volumetric, and/or oven systems.
• Knowledge of differentiating ketone samples is particularly valuable.
• Experience with Metrohm titration systems is preferred.
• Method development experience is highly recommended.
• Hands-on industry experience is preferred, although the team is willing to train a candidate on more complex titration instrumentation if they have a strong foundational background.
