    Description

    Spang & Company has an opening for a Chief Financial Officer at its corporate office in Pittsburgh, PA. This position will be responsible for the strategic planning, leadership, implementation, and management of all financial activities of the company, working directly with the senior leadership team on business planning, forecasting, financial negotiations, risk management, and long-term financial strategy. This position will provide executive oversight of accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, cash management, budgeting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and financial systems to support sound decision-making and maximize financial performance.

    Spang & Company is a diversified manufacturing company. Through the work of three unique product lines, we design, produce, and supply precision soft magnetic components and materials to the electronics industry and custom-engineered solutions to the power industry.

    Major responsibilities will include leading and overseeing the company’s financial operations to support long-term business objectives, maximize financial performance, and provide strategic guidance to executive leadership and the board of directors. This role will manage financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, business planning, accounting operations, financial reporting, treasury and cash management, banking relationships, risk management, compliance, and internal controls. The position will also ensure financial records and reports are accurate, timely, and maintained in accordance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements. Additional responsibilities include evaluating financial performance, supporting mergers, acquisitions, and strategic business opportunities, improving accounting processes and ERP system utilization, strengthening consistency across locations, partnering with corporate and location financial teams, maintaining external financial relationships, and leading cross-functional initiatives that improve finance, accounting, operations, and information technology processes.

    A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business is required, along with 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience in a multi-plant environment. A Master of Business Administration is strongly preferred. Candidates should have strong experience in financial planning and analysis, general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, treasury, cash management, budgeting, financial reporting, and mergers and acquisitions. Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems and advanced ERP systems is required.
