The role holds enterprise-level responsibility for financial strategy, risk management, treasury oversight, and external financial relationships.

Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer; visa sponsorship is not available. This is an in-person role (F&A staff may work from home up to two days per week).

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide executive oversight of the organization's financial management, ensuring financial health, sustainability, and alignment with mission and strategic goals; serve as primary financial advisor to the Executive Director, leadership team, Board of Trustees, and its committees.

    • Maintain ultimate oversight of budgeting and financial planning, including review and approval of annual budgets, forecasts, and significant revisions.
    • Oversee enterprise-level cash management, treasury, investments, lines of credit, reserves, and liquidity strategy in collaboration with the Executive Director and Board.
    • Maintain primary responsibility for external financial relationships (auditors, banks, investment managers, regulators) and oversee the annual audit, remaining engaged on scope, findings, and resolution.
    • Ensure timely, accurate financial and regulatory filings (including IRS Form 990) and oversee compliance with financial regulations, funder requirements, and Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200).
    • Assess the financial implications of new programs, contracts, and funding opportunities to support executive and board decision-making; represent the organization in financial matters with external stakeholders and partners.
    • Attend required agency trainings (e.g., trauma-informed care, de-escalation) and follow all safety, security, and attendance protocols

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Directly supervise and develop the Director of F&A, providing strategic guidance, performance feedback, and mentorship; ensure the F&A department is appropriately staffed and resourced.
    • Oversee senior-level personnel actions within F&A (hiring, evaluation, development, corrective action) in collaboration with Human Resources.
    • Set clear expectations for financial leadership, accountability, and ethical conduct; foster a culture of integrity, transparency, and trauma-informed leadership.
    • Model trauma-informed leadership, provide regular feedback and one-on-ones, and support staff growth, delegating effectively and resolving conflicts professionally.
    • Track team performance and training completion, conduct evaluations, and advocate for staff needs while balancing operational priorities.
