The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a visionary, strategic leader responsible for driving digital transformation, ensuring operational excellence across technology platforms, and maximizing the value of technology investments. The ideal candidate combines deep IT expertise with a strong business mindset and a demonstrated commitment to developing future technology leaders through coaching, mentorship, and leadership development initiatives.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Strategic Technology Leadership: Develop and execute a forward-looking IT strategy that aligns technology capabilities with business priorities, regulatory requirements, operational needs, and long-term growth objectives.
- Enterprise Systems & Supply Chain Digitalization: Lead the implementation, optimization, and integration of ERP, warehouse management, logistics, inventory, and reporting systems to improve visibility, efficiency, traceability, and decision-making across the business.
- Team Leadership, Training & Leadership Development: Lead, develop, train, and mentor a high-performing IT organization by building technical capability, strengthening leadership skills, creating development plans, and preparing emerging leaders for expanded responsibility across corporate, remote, and operational locations.
- Leadership Development Initiatives: Design and champion programs that strengthen leadership capability within the IT function, including coaching frameworks, mentorship opportunities, succession planning, cross-training, and professional development pathways for managers and high-potential team members.
- Data, Analytics & Business Intelligence: Advance data governance, reporting, analytics, and business intelligence capabilities to support demand planning, pricing decisions, operational performance, inventory accuracy, and supply chain transparency.
- Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance: Establish and maintain a strong cybersecurity, disaster recovery, data privacy, and compliance framework that protects company assets, supports business continuity, and aligns with applicable regulatory and food safety requirements.
- Vendor, Budget & Resource Management: Oversee IT budgets, vendor relationships, contracts, service levels, and technology investments to ensure cost-effective solutions, strong accountability, and measurable business value.
- Change Management, User Enablement & Capability Building: Partner with business leaders to support technology adoption, develop user training plans, communicate system changes, and build internal capability so employees and managers have the knowledge, confidence, and leadership support needed to use technology effectively.
- Process Improvement & Innovation: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, modernize systems, automate manual processes, and introduce scalable technology solutions that improve service delivery and operational performance.
Qualifications:
- At least 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior or executive technology role within the food, beverage, consumer goods, distribution, manufacturing, or related industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required; MBA, advanced technical degree, or relevant professional certifications are highly preferred.
- Industry Acumen: Strong understanding of supply chain operations, inventory management, distribution, compliance frameworks, and the technology needs of a fast-paced, multi-site business environment.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience leading enterprise technology platforms, including ERP systems, CRM tools, warehouse and inventory systems, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity programs, data analytics, and business intelligence solutions. Deep technical knowledge of Infor M3, Salesforce preferred.
- Leadership Development & Talent Growth: Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop distributed IT teams, build leadership pipelines, promote knowledge sharing, support succession planning, and cultivate a service-oriented technology culture grounded in accountability and continuous learning.
- Coaching & Mentorship Mindset: Proven commitment to fostering professional growth through regular coaching, feedback, mentorship, leadership development planning, and opportunities that expand the skills and readiness of managers and team members.
- Communication & Change Leadership: Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language, influence stakeholders, lead cross-functional initiatives, and support training and adoption of new systems and processes.
Salary Range: $350,000 - $390,000, plus bonus. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
Our company will be relocating to a new corporate headquarters in Madison, NJ in Q1 of 2027. Candidates should be comfortable with this upcoming change in location.
