The Chief Nursing Officer is a permanent, full-time position with the Department of Public Health. This position is located in Montgomery. This is administrative professional nursing work in directing public health nursing on a statewide basis. The employee in this position is responsible for administering and coordinating public health nursing activities and programs, providing policies and methods for improving the quality of professional nursing services, and maintaining professional standards for public health nurses. Work also includes providing consultative services to allied professional and lay groups in community nursing and health services, and other state agencies.
