RESOLVE: The National Infertility and Family Building Association is the nation's leading patient advocacy organization representing the 1 in 6 Americans facing infertility. RESOLVE empowers people navigating their fertility journey through trusted information, community support, and grassroots advocacy that make family building options accessible to everyone. RESOLVE has expanded insurance coverage for fertility care for 65 million Americans, serves 2,000 people each month through our support group network, and mobilizes over 40,000 advocates to take action in their communities.
RESOLVE is at a critical moment of launching a new strategic plan and ensuring we’re positioned to meet the changing needs of patients. The Chief of Staff is the first new hire the organization has made since bringing on a new CEO last year and will be critical to RESOLVE’s long-term success.
The Chief of Staff serves as a strategic partner to the CEO, translating organizational vision into operational excellence. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, overseeing cross-functional initiatives, building operational infrastructure, and stewarding positive organizational culture to achieve our ambitious goals. As the CEO's thought partner and operational lead, you'll enable executive focus on external relationships while ensuring internal alignment, accountability, and momentum.
Strategic Execution & Project Management (40%)
Oversee execution of RESOLVE's strategic plan across all departments, ensuring milestones are met and priorities remain aligned
Design and implement project management systems and processes for cross-team collaboration, utilizing AI to increase organizational effectiveness
Lead high-profile, cross-functional initiatives
Identify operational bottlenecks and drive problem-solving across teams
Serve as accountability partner for departmental leaders on strategic deliverables
Organizational Operations & Infrastructure (35%)
Champion and cultivate a positive team culture by implementing initiatives to support RESOLVE’s people
Assess and strengthen operational policies, procedures, and systems to support organizational growth
Manage RESOLVE’s budget, partnering with development team on budget monitoring and operational planning
Oversee operational functions by managing staff and external partners responsible for accounting, human resources, IT, and legal
Serve as staff liaison to Board of Directors; support board meeting preparation and follow-up
Executive Partnership & Leadership (25%)
Serve as thought partner and trusted advisor to CEO on strategic and operational matters
Act as proxy for CEO in internal meetings and decision-making when needed
Represent organizational priorities across all departments; build cross-team alignment
Required:
7+ years of experience, with at least 5 years of experience within nonprofits or mission-driven organizations
Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional projects from conception to completion
People-centered leader with a knack for motivating teams and collaborating cross-functionally
Strong systems-thinking ability; experience building or improving organizational infrastructure
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate vision into actionable plans
Experience with HR functions including compensation, performance management, or benefits administration
Experience with budget development and financial planning; ability to partner effectively with development teams
Skilled in leveraging AI tools and automation to improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency

Prior experience supporting an executive and managing operational programs

Salary range: $102,000 - $125,000, commensurate with experience
