FULL DESCRIPTION: The COO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all hospital operations and driving operational transformation. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with turnaround experience who can step into a challenged environment, assess priorities quickly, and execute against a clear path forward.
The COO will partner closely with executive leadership to stabilize operations, improve patient flow, and rebuild core systems to support long-term success and high-quality patient care.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Provide executive oversight of daily hospital operations across all departments
- Conduct a comprehensive assessment of operational gaps, inefficiencies, and risk areas
- Develop and execute a turnaround strategy focused on stabilizing and improving operations
- Optimize patient flow, throughput, and coordination across clinical and non-clinical teams
- Identify and prioritize critical operational, infrastructure, and staffing needs
- Drive accountability and performance standards across departments
- Lead cross-functional teams through change in a high-pressure, politically sensitive environment
- Partner with executive leadership to align operational initiatives with organizational goals
- Establish metrics, processes, and systems to improve efficiency and long-term performance
- Serve as a key operational advisor to the CEO and Board on risk, priorities, and execution
- Foster a culture of urgency, ownership, and continuous improvement
The selected candidate will also possess:
- Proven experience as a COO or senior operational leader within a hospital or healthcare setting
- Demonstrated success in hospital or healthcare turnaround environments
- Strong understanding of hospital operations, patient flow, and departmental coordination
- Ability to quickly assess operational gaps and implement effective solutions
- Experience working in community hospitals or safety-net environments highly preferred
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous situations
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive accountability and change across teams
Salary Range: $250,000.00 - $350,000.00/year
