Child Care Teacher (ECE)

Our client, a leading healthcare organization in Richmond, VA is looking for a Child Care Teacher to join their on-site early childhood education center. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced childcare professional who enjoys working with young children but is looking for the stability, resources, professional environment, and benefits of a large healthcare organization.

Teachers support children from approximately 6 weeks through 6 years of age, including the children of hospital employees, frontline medical staff, and faculty. They will be responsible for emphasizing creativity, exploration, independence, and child-led learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and classroom activities
• Create a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment that promotes cognitive, social, emotional, language, and motor development
• Build positive relationships with children and families and provide regular feedback regarding progress and daily activities
• Maintain classroom records and required documentation
• Support the implementation of specific learning principles in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Supervise assigned teacher aides and volunteers as appropriate
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom and follow infection-control, licensing, and safety requirements
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, leadership, and staff to provide consistent, high-quality care
• Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of formal childcare/early childhood experience required
• Experience working with children from infancy through preschool age
• Child Development Associate (CDA) certification required
• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Psychology, Psychology, or a closely related field preferred
• Candidates with a combination of relevant education, early childhood coursework, and experience may also be considered
• Experience working with infants and toddlers is highly preferred

Schedule 

• Monday–Friday
• 7.5-hour shifts
• Childcare center operates between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Shifts will fall within center operating hours
