Position Summary
The Child Watch Lead is responsible for leading the daily operation of Child Watch while creating a safe, engaging, and trusted environment for children and their families. This position provides leadership, coaching, and operational support to the Child Watch team while ensuring Henderson Sport & Social's standards for safety, cleanliness, and quality care are consistently maintained.
The Child Watch Lead partners with the Fitness Manager to create an exceptional experience for members and their families by developing engaging activities, maintaining a high-quality Child Watch environment, and building trust with every parent who uses the program.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the daily operation of Child Watch while ensuring children receive attentive supervision and quality care.
- Lead, coach, and develop Child Watch Attendants by providing ongoing feedback, training, and support.
- Train new team members, assign daily activities, approve breaks, verify staffing ratios, and complete opening and closing procedures.
- Create and maintain activity calendars while planning age-appropriate crafts, games, learning activities, and supervised play experiences.
- Maintain inventory of toys, books, arts and crafts materials, cleaning supplies, and other Child Watch resources.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parent concerns, crying children, illness, minor injuries, behavioral concerns, and incident documentation.
- Refuse entry to children displaying signs of contagious illness and communicate operational concerns, staffing shortages, or program closures to the Fitness Manager immediately.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, organized, and developmentally appropriate Child Watch environment. Children are never left unattended.
- Partner with the Fitness Manager to continuously enhance the Child Watch program and member experience.
- Complete additional operational, administrative, and leadership duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to employment.
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain through Henderson Sport & Social.
- Previous childcare, daycare, preschool, youth recreation, or related experience.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events based on business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience planning age-appropriate activities or curriculum.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Occasionally assist children up to 50 pounds when necessary for safety.
- Bend, kneel, crouch, sit on the floor, and actively participate in children's activities.
- Work in a fast-paced family recreation environment.
