About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Estimator to join a growing Project Management Team at a well-established construction company experiencing rapid expansion. This position is ideal for professionals with a strong background in Heavy Highway Construction and expertise in preparing accurate and comprehensive project estimates.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute detailed take-offs of construction documents.
• Review construction documents and understand the scope of work to bid using state and federal specifications.
• Obtain quotes from subcontractors and vendors for materials and labor as needed.
• Prepare estimates by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs throughout the project life cycle.
• Develop and maintain company resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, and government requirements.
• Help review bidding decisions for upcoming projects.
• Communicate plans and contract terms to relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the Project Management Team to manage the financial aspects of projects.
• Attend departmental meetings as required.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency with HCSS (Heavy Bid), AutoCAD, and P6 (Primavera) or other estimating/scheduling software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Working knowledge of all phases of Civil Construction.
• Strong contracts and plan-reading skills.
• Established relationships with suppliers and subcontractors in the area.
• Field experience in construction projects.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum 10 years of Heavy Highway Construction experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in estimation work.
• Stable work history and proven leadership experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working in an office environment where dogs are present.
