Job Description

Lead all day-to-day paving operations on assigned construction projects. Coordinate crews, subcontractors, equipment, and material deliveries to ensure efficient project execution. Develop and maintain project schedules while monitoring productivity and performance. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and contract requirements. Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all job sites. Conduct daily site inspections and pre-task planning meetings. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, clients, and field personnel to address project challenges and maintain progress. Monitor labor, equipment utilization, and production rates to maximize efficiency and profitability. Manage asphalt paving activities including roadway, parking lot, highway, and municipal infrastructure projects. Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and daily logs. Resolve field issues proactively while minimizing project delays and disruptions. Support workforce development through mentoring and training field personnel.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Civil Construction Paving Superintendent should have: Proven experience as a Superintendent within heavy civil construction, asphalt paving, roadway, or site development projects. Strong understanding of paving operations, grading, utilities, earthwork, and construction sequencing. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors in a fast-paced environment. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices. Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, schedules, and project documents. Experience managing budgets, production tracking, and project performance metrics. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required. Prior experience on DOT, municipal, commercial, or large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
