Civil Supervisor
Civil Construction Contractors, LLC, an industrial civil contractor located in Hahnville, LA, is currently seeking Civil Supervisors to lead and control skilled labor and work crews engaged in all activities concerned with the civil works aspects of a project and supervises workers engaged in the construction.
Candidates must be capable of the following:
- Capable of understanding project schedules and the importance of meeting the milestones of such schedules.
- Capable of understanding estimates, budgets, job costing, and forecasted project costs.
- Ability to read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures, specifications, drawings, and all other discipline related project and engineering documentation.
- Ability to optimize resources (manpower, equipment and materials) to ensure efficient and timely completion of the works.
- Able to demonstrate good organizational skills, following safety policies, procedures and construction work practices.
- Commands respect of his workforce and develop excellent working relationships with all other department personnel as well as the client.
- Liaises with other company supervisors to ensure the optimum utilization of available work, with the overall objective of successful completion of project (s).
- Must be a good communicator and able to give instructions in an efficient and effective way to his workforce.
- Perform coordination and performance related activities such as site preparation, earthwork, drainage, foundation layout, form works, concreting, carpentry, reinforcing steel, etc.
- Ensures crews are properly supplied with tools, equipment and materials.
- Prevents wastage and misuse of equipment, materials and tools.
- Supervises work crews to best utilize manpower and materials, exercises discipline at the work site to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices and idleness.
Safety Requirements:
- Candidates must enforce and adhere to all safety rules, policies and procedures designated by safety.
- Actively involved in JSA procedures and audits.
Physical Requirements:
• Physical lifting of objects in weight up to 60 pounds
• Climbing of ladders, stairs, and structures.
• Work at above grade and below grade elevations.
