PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK

Organize and maintain detailed inventory of a large variety of water meter components in Water Meter Shop. Assemble and prepare water meters, registers, modules. Program components accurately to ensure proper measurement of water used for billing purposes. Upload collected data from handheld processors into billing software. Assemble large water meters for field personnel. Troubleshoot software issues associated with water meter modules in the field.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Twelve to eighteen months education and formal training beyond high school specific to the individual position and prior work experience in the civil engineering field incorporating the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the specific position. Knowledge of and ability to use computer systems and software appropriate to the nature and level of work. Ability to set up and use appropriate instruments to accurately take measurements. Knowledge of and ability to perform mathematical operations.

TYPE OF EXAMINATION

Examination will be a written test.
