Civil Estimator - Site Development & Utilities

A well-established civil site contractor in Northeast Ohio is seeking a Civil Estimator to join their preconstruction team! They self-perform earthwork and site utility work on projects in multiple states and have a strong lineup of bids ahead. This is a great opportunity to own your estimates from the first takeoff to the final number and have a real voice in how the company wins work. Civil Estimator Responsibilities:

- Complete quantity takeoffs for earthwork, grading and underground utilities

- Build bids covering labor, equipment, materials and subcontracted scopes

- Review plans, specs and soil reports to catch scope gaps and risk early

- Request, compare and level subcontractor and supplier quotes

- Put together bid proposals with clear inclusions, exclusions and clarifications

- Walk project managers and field leaders through each job at turnover

- Look for value engineering and cost-saving options

Civil Estimator Qualifications:

- 3+ years of civil or sitework estimating experience

- Strong background in earthwork and site utilities

- HCSS HeavyBid experience preferred

- Solid understanding of equipment production rates and crew costs

- Able to read civil plans, grading plans and specifications

- Comfortable managing multiple bid deadlines

- Consistent work history

Civil Estimator Compensation & Benefits:

- $70,000 - $90,000 depending on experience
