Civil Litigation Legal Secretary
Location: Remote (Preferred PST | EST candidates considered)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (Flexible within business hours)
Employment Type: W2 Contract through 12/31/2026
Position Overview
Our client, a leading property and casualty insurance organization, is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Legal Secretary to support two attorneys handling California civil litigation matters. This is a fully remote position supporting attorneys focused on Property & Casualty insurance defense litigation.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in California civil litigation, excels in a fast-paced paperless environment, and is highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of Legal Secretary experience supporting civil litigation.
California civil litigation experience is required.
Experience with California court e-filing and e-service is required.
Insurance defense experience is preferred; plaintiff-side civil litigation experience will also be considered.
Family law and criminal law experience alone will not qualify.
Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and legal document preparation.
Experience working in a paperless legal environment.
Proficiency with:
Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft Office Suite
Adobe Acrobat/PDF editing
Legal case management software
Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
Note: A Bachelor's degree and Notary Public license are not required. Relevant experience is prioritized over education.
