    Job Summary

    The Staff Civil Engineering Technician – Water Functions supports engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables for water-related projects. This role applies engineering principles and design standards to create technical documentation using CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling software while providing technical guidance to ensure high-quality project deliverables.


    Job Description

    • Support engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables under general direction.
    • Create and maintain site development plans using Autodesk Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, and other design software.
    • Apply engineering principles and established design practices to develop moderately complex design concepts and solutions.
    • Utilize CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling tools to produce and maintain technical documentation and drawings.
    • Review project requirements and determine the appropriate format and content for engineering deliverables.
    • Ensure deliverables comply with applicable codes, standards, company policies, and quality requirements.
    • Perform design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and documentation.
    • Coordinate with design teams to exchange project information and support design development.
    • Review the work of other team members and provide technical guidance as needed.
    • Assist with work assignments, schedule maintenance, and project coordination.
    • Support field activities and plant start-up activities, as required.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies, design tools, and engineering processes to support continuous improvement.

     

    Skills Required

    • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
    • Experience with Civil 3D grading.
    • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D.
    • Knowledge of engineering design principles, drafting standards, and applicable codes.
    • Experience using CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling software.
    • Ability to perform design calculations, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Solar industry experience preferred.
    • Experience with PVcase and PV Farm software preferred.

     

    Education/Training/Certifications

    • Diploma or Certificate required.
    • Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or a related field preferred.

     

    Additional Requirements
