    Summary: This position is responsible for Maintain policy language standards for all Commercial Lines contracts. Manage the product lines assigned to achieve the profit and growth goals per annual and long term plan.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    • Develop, maintain and monitor policy language standards for all Commercial Lines contracts and forms to ensure and promote consistency, when possible, between states and products.
    • Develop a high level of knowledge and understanding of the contract and form language used in all Commercial Lines products in relationship to competitors.
    • Conduct market analysis and competitive intelligence gathering in relation to coverages, endorsements, underwriting rules, and form language. Monitor claims issues, regulatory changes, environmental and societal issues, and changes by competitors for the purpose of developing, maintaining and recommending changes to Commercial Lines policy contracts and forms for all products in all operating states.
    • Maintain and revise Commercial Lines product manuals, policy forms and endorsements as needed to support product management. Coordinate and monitor implementation of all Commercial Lines product language changes to ensure changes are made in a timely manner within acceptable standards. Communicate all changes to all impacted departments, groups, associates and agents.
    • Review, evaluate, develop and manage implementation plan for coverage rule and form changes for products supported by Insurance Services Office, American Association of Independent Insurers, Surety Association of America, NCCI, Hartford Steam Boiler and any other bureau or coverage partner.
    • Lead and develop all training for new coverages, changes to existing coverages and/or reinforcement of coverages and issues identified.
    • Complete and submit product filings, as required, with each Department of Insurance to support changes.
    • Assist with coordination, implementation and communication of all product/price changes for a line of business with impacted departments, groups, associates and agents. Includes internal and external communication and training, as necessary.
    • Act as subject matter expert and provide support for project implementations relating to compliance.
    • Assist Quality Assurance in the resolving of production defects and system issues from a compliance perspective.
    • Act as a mentor and role model for new Compliance Specialists.
    • Informal leader within Commercial Lines.
    • Stay abreast of current industry trends, state issues and competitor actions. Utilize this knowledge to formulate appropriate recommendations to management and drive product decisions consistent with the commercial lines strategy.
    • Maintain a rapport with the organizations of which we are members or subscribers and the insurance departments of the states in which the Company operates.

    What You'll Bring To The Company:

    Required:

    Five or more years experience as a commercial underwriter or comparable position with knowledge of commercial coverages, rating plans, and underwriting criteria required. Must be self-motivated; able to work autonomously; able to communicate with all levels of personnel on a verbal or written basis; possess good analytical skills; demonstrate good organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and deadlines. A Bachelors degree and/or CPCU is strongly desired. Demonstrated project management skills are strongly desired.
