Location: Alexandria, VA (Mark Center / 395) - on-site 5 days/week Clearance: Secret Clearance Required Pay: $50-$52/hr

We are seeking a highly skilled Classification Specialist to support a federal HR operations team delivering HR services, managing employee data, assisting with recruitment and in other areas of human resources.

This project supports the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) Human Resources Directorate (HRD). WHS is a shared service provider, delivering HR and personnel security service and support to multiple DoD and Federal customers in the competitive and accepted service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide the full scope of classification services across Title 5 and Title 10.
• Conduct supervisor and employee desk audits/position reviews.
• Review and evaluate new draft Position Descriptions (PDs) as well as existing PDs, classify PDs.
• Prepare written evaluation statements to support the title, occupational series and grade in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) classification standards and agency Human Resources Directorate (HRD's) standard operating procedures.
• Review and explain classification results to HR Specialists, supervisors and employees.
• Design and implement transition to standardized PDs for use by WHS/HRD-serviced customers where appropriate.
• Provide customer-focused, timely, and professional HR service delivery

Performance Expectations:

• Recruit/Fill PDs completed within 5 calendar days; non-Recruit/Fill PDs completed within 10 calendar days.
• Expectation for meeting performance standards with no required re-performance or re-work at least 90% of the time.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be willing to work onsite 5 days/week
• Active Secret Clearance
• Experience drafting and finalizing position descriptions
• Experience using OPM standards to classify jobs with appropriate title, job series and grade.
