The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is hiring Classroom Teacher Assistants for our child care program.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting with daily activities for children enrolled in the program
• Providing a quality experience that focuses on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
• Assisting in developing self-confidence, self-control, listening skills, ability to follow directions and work habits
• Assisting with set-up and clean-up of activities (lunch, snack, projects, etc.)
• Ensuring a safe, positive, nurturing environment and continually and actively involve self with children

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum age 18.
• Minimum of six months of basic experience working with children preferred
• Must be comfortable changing diapers
• Requirements upon date of hire include: completion of Child Abuse Prevention trainings; CPR/AED/First Aid - training on-site.

Hours: Shifts are weekdays 8am - 3pm and 3pm - 6:30pm. Flexible schedules available.

Pay: The rate is $16.04+ per hour depending on education and experience.
