Cleaning Specialist (Custodian)
Shifts Available: 1st (6:00 AM- 2:30 PM), (7:00 AM- 3:30 PM)
Location: Detroit MI
Pay Range: $18.50 - $22.00 per hour, based on experience

EW Grobbel has built its reputation on quality; and quality starts with a clean facility. Our Custodians are essential to maintaining the safe, sanitary environment. This position offers a high degree of independence and trust. Much of your day will be spent working throughout our facility on your own, keeping our buildings clean, organized, stocked, and ready for more than 400 employees.

Job Description:

• Perform routine and deep cleaning of production, office, and common areas while maintaining high sanitation standards.
• Respond promptly and independently to spills, cleaning emergencies, and other facility needs.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, hallways, stairwells, and other common areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and floor care.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces to maintain a professional appearance.
• Support scheduled deep-cleaning and special facility projects.
• Inspect, maintain, and operate custodial equipment; report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
• Report maintenance concerns or facility issues.
• Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment while following all food safety and safety procedures.
• Monitor and replenish restroom and facility supplies, including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready facility while working with minimal supervision.

• Cleaning experience is helpful, but we can teach cleaning techniques. We're looking for someone who already has the mindset of taking ownership.
• Ability to prioritize work, identify cleaning needs, and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, safety, and quality.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work collaboratively with employees across departments.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs.
• Ability to work in changing environmental conditions, including varying temperatures and noise levels.
• Work primarily on the manufacturing floor and throughout office areas.
