Job Description

The Cleaning Technician plays a key role in ensuring the data center is thoroughly cleaned and ready for operation. This position focuses on final cleaning tasks in a commercial or industrial data center environment, including detailed work around server racks and equipment, with regular work at elevated heights.

Responsibilities

• Perform final cleaning of data center facilities, ensuring all areas meet cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Wipe down server racks, equipment surfaces, and surrounding areas with attention to detail.
• Sweep, mop, and dust floors and other facility surfaces as part of a comprehensive cleaning routine.
• Work at heights of approximately 8 feet on ladders to dust servers, wires, and overhead areas using broom dusters or similar tools.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area throughout the shift.
• Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working in a commercial or industrial construction environment.
• Operate cleaning tools and equipment in accordance with site guidelines and training.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and, when applicable, with customers or staff in the facility.
• Report any issues, hazards, or equipment concerns to onsite leadership promptly.

Essential Skills

• Prior cleaning experience, ideally in a commercial or industrial setting.
• Comfort working at heights, including standing and working on ladders up to approximately 8 feet.
• Experience working on commercial or industrial construction sites.
• Ability to perform housekeeping and sanitizing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and surface cleaning.
• Basic familiarity with construction environments and adherence to related safety practices.
• Reliability in following established cleaning procedures and schedules.
• Physical ability to stand, climb ladders, bend, and lift as required for cleaning tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Janitorial or sanitation experience in any setting.
• Customer service experience involving direct customer interaction.
• Experience using buffers or other powered cleaning equipment.
• Experience operating or working around equipment such as scissor lifts.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a data center environment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a data center facility within a commercial or industrial construction environment. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, providing regular daytime hours. Work involves both floor-level and elevated tasks, including working on ladders around servers, wires, and infrastructure. You will wear jeans and steel-toe boots, and all additional personal protective equipment will be provided. The setting emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and attention to detail while working around sensitive technology and equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint George, SC.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
