Cleanroom Operator/Assembler

This role supports the production of life-enhancing medical glucose sensors used to monitor patients blood glucose levels. As a Cleanroom Operator / Assembler, you work within a highly controlled cleanroom environment to perform precise mechanical assembly, fabrication, packaging, or testing activities. You handle small components under a microscope, follow detailed work instructions, and help ensure that every sensor meets strict quality and safety standards.

• Perform mechanical assembly of glucose sensor components, including the sensor base and needle, following detailed work instructions.
• Work as part of a production line where you are responsible for a specific step in the assembly or fabrication process.
• Operate under a microscope to handle and assemble very small parts with high precision and accuracy.
• Follow cleanroom gowning and de-gowning procedures every time you enter or exit the cleanroom, including wearing gloves, shoe covers, gown, hair net, face mask, and other required protective gear.
• Maintain strict adherence to cleanroom protocols and good manufacturing practices (GMP) to protect product sterility and quality.
• Meet or exceed hourly production goals and units-per-hour targets while maintaining high quality standards.
• Document work performed accurately and completely, ensuring traceability and compliance with production and quality requirements.
• Inspect components and assembled products visually and under a microscope to identify defects or inconsistencies.
• Use basic hand tools and equipment safely and correctly during assembly, fabrication, packaging, or cleaning processes.
• Support packaging and cleaning activities as needed to ensure finished products are ready for testing and shipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and report any issues, deviations, or equipment concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Collaborate with team members and shift leads to maintain a smooth, efficient production flow.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment and consistently meet hourly production goals.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow written work instructions and document work accurately.
• Comfort and proficiency working with small parts under a microscope for extended periods.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift and perform repetitive tasks with reliable hand dexterity.
• Experience or aptitude for mechanical assembly, particularly in a production or manufacturing setting.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and strictly follow gowning, hygiene, and contamination control procedures.
• Familiarity with or ability to learn good manufacturing practices (GMP) and medical device production standards.
• Basic skills using hand tools safely and effectively.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Previous experience in production, manufacturing, general labor, or assembly roles.
• Experience in medical device, medical assembly, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Background in roles such as fast food, retail, banking, caregiving, sales, or other customer-focused or process-driven positions, demonstrating reliability and adaptability.
• Experience working with microscopes for inspection or assembly tasks.
• Familiarity with packaging, cleaning, and inspection processes in a production environment.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed work instructions and documentation.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for precise assembly work.

You work in a highly sterile cleanroom manufacturing environment producing medical devices. The cleanroom has strict contamination control requirements, and you follow a detailed gowning and de-gowning process that includes wearing gloves, shoe covers, a gown, hair net, face mask, and other protective items. No makeup, jewelry, piercings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, fake fingernails, or fake eyelashes are allowed inside the cleanroom to maintain sterility. The production environment is fast-paced, with clear hourly production goals and units-per-hour metrics that vary by process. Work is performed primarily standing for the full shift, and tasks often involve using microscopes, hand tools, and other basic production equipment. Available shifts include first-shift roles (such as 6:00 AM2:30 PM and 7:00 AM3:30 PM) and second-shift roles (such as 2:00 PM10:30 PM and 3:00 PM11:30 PM), depending on product line and function. The facility emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to good manufacturing practices to ensure consistent, high-quality medical products.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Northridge, CA.

The pay range for this position is $20.75 - $23.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
