Automated Test Engineer (up to 2 days of telework)SummaryWe have an immediate need for an Automated Test Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of a large system. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, passionate about software quality, and experienced in developing robust automated test suites. This role will work closely with a cross-functional Agile team of software developers, system engineers, and product owners to validate functional enhancements and support the ongoing modernization of authoring and dissemination tools.Required
- 4+ years of experience as a Test Engineer in test engineering or integration of modern hardware/software systems.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated UI and API tests using Cypress. Automation experience must be specifically described on the resume.
- Proficiency with JavaScript and/or TypeScript for automated test script development.
- Experience testing modern web applications.
- Experience testing RESTful microservices and APIs.
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Practical experience working within Agile software development environments.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Experience using Git and version control systems.
- Ability to independently design, develop, execute, maintain, and troubleshoot automated test suites.
- Experience analyzing test results, troubleshooting failures, documenting defects, and reporting testing metrics.
- Ability to collaborate with software developers, system engineers, product owners, and DevOps personnel.
- Ability to participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and demos, and ensure comprehensive test coverage for new features and bug fixes.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional TE or related experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
- Shall have familiarity with test engineering or integration of modern hardware/software systems.
- Shall have familiarity with the development and integration of test strategies, plans, traceability matrices, procedures, and reports.
- Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/Poly
Desired- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud-based architectures and deployments.
- Basic understanding of Docker/containerization and consistent test environments.
- Familiarity with government agency reporting and dissemination policies.
- Experience supporting modernization of authoring, reporting, dissemination, or similar enterprise systems.
*Salary Range: $ 130,000- $200,000*The provided salary range is an approximation based on current market data and may vary. The final offer will be determined after carefully considering the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to the position.
