Job Title: Clerk I - Counselor

Reports to: Principal

Dept.: School Varying

Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt Pay Grade: 22 Days: 202 days Date Revised: 5/16/2025

Primary Purpose: Ensure efficient operation of counselors office and assist school counselor with administrative duties.

Qualifications: Education: Certification: High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills: • Proficient typing, word processing, and file maintenance skills • Effective organizational communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing • Knowledge of basic accounting principles

Experience: One year of secretarial experience preferably in public education environment

Major Responsibilities and Duties: Records, Reports, and Correspondence • Provide general clerical support to counselor • Assist counselor with test preparation • Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required • Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain calendar for Counselor • Maintain confidentiality

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Equipment Used: • Personal computer • Typewriter • Printer • Copier • Fax machine • Calculator

Working Conditions: Mental Demands: Physical Demands: Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress, work with frequent interruptions. Repetitive hand motions, prolonged use of computer.
