Position Summary
GD Resources LLC is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to provide on-site nursing support at the Dayton VA Medical Center. RNs will support patient care in primary care and other assigned clinical areas, using independent nursing judgment, strong assessment skills, and an interdisciplinary approach to care.
Required Qualifications
Current, active Registered Nurse license issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing - required.
Graduate of a professional nursing program approved by the appropriate state accrediting agency and accredited by ACEN or CCNE at the time the program was completed.
Current CPR certification from an American Heart Association vendor.
Current BLS certification; current ACLS is required when assigned to a specialty clinic.
At least one year of direct patient care experience within the last three years.
VA experience is desirable.
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently and complete VA credentialing, background, health, privacy, and mandatory training requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Assess patients, establish nursing priorities, develop/revise plans of care, and evaluate outcomes.
Administer medications and IV therapies; assess and document patient response.
Interpret cardiac rhythms and operate emergency equipment, including defibrillators, EKG machines, and cardiac monitors.
Provide critical-care nursing as assigned and assist with emergency, surgical, and diagnostic procedures within scope.
Review laboratory data and electronic medical records; complete accurate, timely documentation in the VA EHR.
Provide central-line/ventilator care when assigned; perform skin assessments and support pressure-injury prevention.
Educate patients/families, participate in discharge planning, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
Follow VA patient-safety, infection-control, HIPAA/privacy, customer-service, and quality requirements.
Professional Expectations
Report on time and remain available for the full scheduled shift.
Maintain professional appearance and respectful conduct with Veterans, families, and VA staff.
Maintain required licenses/certifications, complete VA training, and promptly report patient-safety incidents per facility policy.
Anticipated assignment is contingent upon contract award, VA credentialing/approval, and completion of all onboarding requirements.
