    Job Summary

    The Clinical Database Coordinator (CDB) manages and maintains secure, role-appropriate access to the Vizient Clinical Data Base (CDB) for Jackson Health System. This role ensures data integrity, supports enterprise analytics, and serves as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and Vizient. The coordinator enables accurate, timely, and compliant use of clinical benchmarking data by overseeing access controls, facilitating data quality reviews, and supporting organizational engagement with Vizient tools and resources.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Administer and maintain end-user access within the Vizient Security Administration Tool (SAT), ensuring alignment with job roles, business needs, and system security standards.
    • Analyze and synthesize organizational clinical, operational, financial, and benchmarking data to identify performance improvement opportunities, and partner with hospital and system leaders to translate insights into actionable strategies that support data-driven decision-making and measurable improvement.
    • Develop and distribute standardized and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and data summaries to support organizational performance monitoring and improvement.
    • Collaborate with Information Technology, Coding/CDI, Finance, and clinical departments to investigate data discrepancies, validate performance measures, and improve data accuracy.
    • Serves as a primary organizational contact for Vizient and peer institutions, supporting collaboration, networking, and best-practice sharing.
    • Review and update Jackson''s CDB Facility Profiler annually to ensure accurate organizational characteristics and reporting parameters.
    • Promote effective use of the CDB and associated reports across clinical, operational, and analytical teams.
    • Participate in routine reviews of Data Quality Reports (DQR), monthly data submissions, and completeness metrics with appropriate internal stakeholders.
    • Coordinate with Vizient staff to optimize system utilization, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely implementation of access changes.
    • Prepare benchmarking analyses, executive summaries, and presentations to support leadership meetings, quality committees, and governance activities.
    • Serve as an internal resource to clinical and operational leaders by providing guidance on the interpretation and application of benchmarking data to support performance improvement initiatives.
    • Coordinate and support the annual review and validation of organizational benchmarking profiles, measure specifications, and reporting structures to ensure accurate comparative performance reporting.
    • Attend monthly Vizient CDB check-up calls to stay informed on product updates, engage with subject matter experts, and strengthen peer collaboration.
    • Gather and relay internal user feedback to Vizient regarding system functionality, enhancements, and user experience improvements.
    • Participate in Vizient focus groups related to product design, feature enhancements, and user-group agenda development.
    • Manage internal requests for CDB Community postings and support communication of relevant updates to stakeholders.
    • Promote participation in Vizient training programs to enhance organizational competency in data interpretation and benchmarking.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    Experience

    • Typically requires 1-3 years of experience in data administration, analytics support, health information management, or related fields.
    • Experience with clinical databases, benchmarking tools, or healthcare data systems preferred.
    • Experience with healthcare quality benchmarking, publicly reported quality measures, or performance improvement initiatives preferred.

    Education

    • Bachelor''s degree in a related field (e.g., health information management, data analytics, business, or healthcare administration) is required.
    • Master''s degree in a related field is preferred.

    Skill

    • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
    • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure.
    • Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment.
    • Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
