Clinical Dietitian - Houston, TX

Location: Houston, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $33.00/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Dietitian to support a leading healthcare organization in Houston, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Dietitian with clinical nutrition experience who is passionate about developing individualized nutrition plans and providing patient and family education. Pediatric nutrition experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient nutritional care plans.

   

• Complete age-appropriate nutritional assessments for patients identified as being at nutrition risk.

   

• Provide nutrition assessment, management, and education for patients with conditions including diabetes.

   

• Develop and adapt nutrition plans based on each patient's medical, economic, social, cultural, and age-specific needs.

   

• Reassess patients at appropriate intervals and adjust nutrition plans as needed.

   

• Provide age-appropriate nutrition education to patients and families.

   

• Assess patients' and families' learning needs and readiness to learn.

   

• Educate patients and families regarding nutritional needs and healthy dietary practices.

   

• Participate in the development and review of patient education materials and department resources.

   

• Collaborate with the healthcare team to support comprehensive patient care.

   

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

   

• Perform other duties as assigned.

   

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.

   

• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required.

   

• Licensed Dietitian (LD) in Texas required.

   

• Clinical Nutrition experience required.

   

• Pediatric nutrition knowledge and experience required.

   

• Experience in pediatric nutrition support and/or oncology nutrition preferred, but not required.

   

• CSP/CSPCC and/or CNSC certification preferred.

   

• Strong knowledge of nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, and pediatric nutrition.

   

• Ability to assess nutritional needs and develop appropriate recommendations and interventions.

   

• Strong patient and family education skills.

   

• Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and organizational skills.

   

• Proficiency with computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and nutrition-related programs.
