Job Summary

We are seeking a Clinical Dietitian to provide comprehensive nutritional care to pediatric patients. The Clinical Dietitian will assess nutritional needs, develop individualized nutrition care plans, provide patient and family education, and monitor patients throughout their course of care.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient nutritional care plans.
• Perform age-appropriate nutrition assessments for patients identified as being at nutritional risk.
• Provide diabetes management and nutrition education according to established guidelines and timeframes.
• Adapt nutrition plans based on each patient’s economic, social, cultural, and age-appropriate needs.
• Reassess patients at appropriate intervals and adjust nutrition plans as needed.
• Provide age-appropriate nutrition education to patients and families.
• Assess learning needs and readiness to learn for patients and families.
• Participate in the development and review of patient education materials and department resources.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential required.
• Texas Licensed Dietitian (LD) required.
• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Knowledge of nutrition, Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), and pediatric nutrition.
• Ability to assess nutritional deficiencies and develop appropriate interventions.
• Ability to make nutritional assessments and recommendations.
• Strong patient and family education skills.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and nutrition-related computer programs.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have clinical dietetics experience with a strong understanding of pediatric nutrition, Medical Nutrition Therapy, nutrition assessments, individualized care planning, and diabetes education.
