Summary:

Collaborates with members of the health care team to provide medical nutrition therapy. Identifies patients at high nutritional risk, assesses nutrition needs and nutrient requirements, develops and implements the nutrition care plan for all assigned patients. Continuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition therapy intervention. Provides nutrition education to patient and family members. Fosters continuity of care among all phases of the system. Participates in performance improvement and research activities. Supervises room service coordinators and/or diet technicians and mentors dietetic students. Actively assesses, evaluates and maintains professional development and competency.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Formal Education Required:

a. Master's degree in an ACEND accredited program required as of January 1, 2024. Or a Bachelor's degree if established eligibility for the registration examination for dietitians on or before December 31, 2023.

b. Successful completion of a 1200 hour dietetic internship.

c. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

d. Licensed Dietitian (LD) by the Ohio Medical Board

2. Experience & Training Required:

a. One (1) to two (2) years of position related experience

3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:

a. Ability to operate a computer

4. Population Specific Competency:

a. Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity

5. Level of Physical Demands:

a. Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
