Clinical Registered Dietitian | Part-Time

Location: Clovis Community Medical Center / 2755 Herndon Ave., Clovis, CA 93611

Compensation: $38+/hour, depending on experience, certifications, and qualifications.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, rotating weekends and holidays.

Job Summary

As a Clinical Registered Dietitian, you'll play a key role in helping patients feel their best through personalized nutrition care. Your expertise will not only ensure patients receive nourishment aligned with their medical needs, but will also bring a compassionate touch to the healing journey. You'll work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to create nutrition plans that support healing and wellness.

In this role, you'll provide nutrition care for acute care inpatients, helping patients navigate a variety of medical conditions and nutrition-related challenges throughout their recovery journey. Through the provision of wholesome, healthy foods and evidence-based nutrition interventions, you will become an invaluable partner in supporting patient recovery and overall well-being.

What You'll Do

• Conduct nutrition assessments for patients within required timeframes.
• Obtain timely and appropriate data and analyze/interpret data based on evidence-based standards.
• Provide appropriate documentation that summarizes the nutrition care plan in the patient's medical record, including nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and plan/goals. Once implemented, the Clinical Dietitian will monitor progress toward goals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary care conferences and discharge planning activities, as appropriate.
• Work closely with other disciplines including OT, PT, Speech Therapy, Nursing, and Social Services to ensure collaboration of care.
• Perform a nutrition diagnosis after identifying the problem and clarifying the cause of the problem with the patient's medical team.
• Develop, implement, and/or make recommendations for individualized nutrition interventions, including enteral and parenteral nutrition support.
• Review and approve therapeutic diets to ensure compliance with all state and federal guidelines.
• Assess and evaluate techniques that consider the varied needs of age-specific populations, as well as cultural, religious, and ethnic concerns.
• Work collaboratively with dining service staff to assure accuracy of diet prescriptions and a high level of patient satisfaction.
• Provide appropriate follow-up in accordance with patient treatment goals, including referrals for outpatient counseling, community resources, or home services as appropriate.
• Conduct in-services and educational presentations for hospital and department staff.
• Maintain accurate recordkeeping of daily clinical activities as required.
• Participate in the orientation and training of new Dietitians and DTRs.
• Function as a preceptor to dietetic students and interns by planning learning experiences, teaching, and evaluating performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring

• Proof of passing the CDR exam through an accredited program.
• Valid state-issued RD/RDN license or certification in the state of practice.
• Master's Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a closely related field.
• ServSafe® Certification.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
