Clinical Dietitian

Work schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm (No weekends/holidays)

Location: 22 New Scotland Ave, Albany, NY

The Pediatric Gastroenterology division located in Albany; NY is seeking a dynamic Clinical Dietitian to join and be part of the Bernard & Millie Duker Children''s Hospital at Albany Medical Center team. We offer a friendly team- oriented work environment centered on efficient, compassionate patient care.

As part of the Pediatric Gastroenterology division, the clinical registered dietitian will provide family-centered medical nutrition therapy for infants, children, and adolescents with digestive diseases and feeding difficulties. They will evaluate growth, manage enteral or parenteral support, and counsel families in outpatient clinic settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Nutritional Assessment: Evaluate patient growth parameters, biochemical data, and dietary histories to diagnose nutritional risk or malnutrition.

• GI Care Management: Design custom nutrition care plans for conditions like celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), short bowel syndrome, chronic constipation, failure to thrive, and food protein-induced enterocolitis (FPIES).

• Feeding & Tube Support: Manage tube-feeding (enteral) formulas, transition plans from tube to oral feeding, and handle complex pediatric feeding disorders. [

• Family Counseling: Educate parents and caregivers on therapeutic diets tailored to a child's age, development, and cultural or socioeconomic background.

• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside pediatric gastroenterologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, speech-language pathologists, and social workers in clinic teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field from an accredited college

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist ( RDN) as delineated by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

• Prior clinical experience in either acute care or outpatient setting- prefer pediatric nutrition experience

• Maintenance of continuing education requirements for dietetic registration.

• Computer literacy ( minimum Outlook, Word, Excel, EPIC)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with patients and staff from diverse cultural, educational, and ethnic backgrounds

• Exceptional time management skills; self-starter and team player.
