Clinical Educator - Surgical Suite

Crouses Surgical Suite / OR team is hiring a Clinical Educator to provide training, assistance and guidance to staff within the Witting Surgical Center by acting as a resource person with the intent to provide optimum perioperative patient care. Available Schedule(s):Full-Time, 7:00am-3:30pm and other shifts as needed Salary Range - $93,000 plus based on experience and education Clinical Educator Responsibilities: Proactively facilitates department orientation for new employees, in-service education sessions and other specialized education programs in the area of assigned responsibility. Effectively promotes role competence, learning and change. Collaborates with department leadership with the daily functioning of the department by evaluating assignments and efficiency opportunities. Professionally acts as both a formal and informal consultant, assists with the integration of new learning and serves as a resource by assisting in identifying problems, identifying available internal and external educational resources, and selecting educational options. Actively participates in evidence-based research to identify strategies for improving professional development activities, nursing practice, policies and procedures, and patient outcomes. Assists others to identify both their learning needs and the effective learning activities required to meet those needs while fostering a positive attitude about the benefits and opportunities of life-long learning. Collaboratively assists in the creation of educational programs. Effectively facilitates the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of competency. Clinical Educator Requirements: Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. Bachelors Degree in Nursing or a current matriculation in a Bachelors in Nursing degree program with an established program end-date. Certification in a specialty area; if hired without CNOR, a commitment to obtaining this certification will be required Two (2) years of operating room nursing experience required Two (2) years experience as a clinical educator preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at the time of hire or within two (2) weeks after hire.
