Shift Schedule:
- Lab hours are Monday Friday, 08:00AM 05:00PM Pacific Time
Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 8 weeks
License: Must hold a valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license or another applicable California laboratory license/authorization. Out-of-state licenses are not accepted.
Certifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or a related lab science meeting California licensure requirements, or higher
Experience Needed:
- Minimum 2 years of recent clinical lab testing in a CLIA-certified laboratory.
- Phlebotomy or specimen collection experience is required when those duties are included in the order.
Special Skills Needed:
- LIS and EHR documentation.
- Demonstrated competency on the specific test systems, equipment, QC, and post-analytic tasks ordered.
Responsibilities:
- Specimen collection, labeling, processing, and transport. Phlebotomy when ordered.
- Pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic testing within authorized complexity.
- QC, instrument checks, calibration and maintenance, and result verification and release.
- Document results, QC data, critical values, and specimen disposition in LIS and EHR.
- Communicate critical or panic values, QC failures, and instrument downtime per escalation protocols.
- Comply with CLIA, bloodborne pathogen, hazmat, and lab safety requirements.
- Participate in competency, proficiency, QA, and QC activities.
