Overview

The Neurobehavioral Unit (NBU) is a unique, 16- bed unit dedicated to the assessment and treatment of children and young adults with severe, treatment-resistant behavioral disorders. The NBU serves patients with a variety of diagnoses, including: autism spectrum disorder, developmental delay, intellectual disability, sleep disorders, seizure disorders, feeding disorders, stereotypic movement disorder with self-injurious behavior, and various genetic, metabolic and chromosomal disorders. The NBU has served patients from across the country and around the world, offering a specialized integrated and targeted application of behavioral and pharmacological interventions.

 

 

This position is 36 hours per week, three 12-hour shifts, Day(7:00am-7:30pm)/ Late Day (11:00am-11:30pm)/ Night (7:00pm-7:30am) rotation

Responsibilities

 

Demonstrating competent patient and family-centered care. Showing culture competence while working with patients and families from across the United States and around the world. Maintaining effective communication with the interdisciplinary team. Being evidence-based practice driven to deliver the highest quality of care to all patients on the unit.

 

Qualifications

 

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN or enrolled in a BSN program to be completed within 2 ½ years of hiring date.

Experience: Experience with pediatric and/or developmentally disabled population preferred.

License: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license from Maryland or a compact state.

Certification: Current CPR certification that included hands on skills

Minimum pay range: USD $34.38/Hr. Maximum pay range: USD $61.33/Hr.
