    Position Summary:
     
    The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for the design, coordination, and implementation of optimal nutritional care and education of patients in accordance with established standards of care. 
     
    Major Duties and Responsibilities:
     
    1. Provides individualized nutrition services aligned with Health at Every Size.
    2. Provides individual medical nutrition therapy integrated with the patient’s medical goals.
    3. Evaluates, interprets, monitors and documents the nutritional status and nutritional needs of hospitalized patients and out-patients using established standards of care and practice guidelines. 
    4. Identifies and provides age-specific nutrition counseling to meet the cultural and spiritual needs of the patients and their families. 
    5. Inspects meals served for conformance to prescribed diets and for standards of palatability and appearance.
    6. Directs the calculation and documentation of calorie counts/enteral intake. 
    7. Communicates nutrition needs and care issues to other health care providers via documentation in patient’s electronic medical record and via participation in interdisciplinary patient care rounds.
    8. Develops, reviews, updates and implements educational materials to meet the needs of patients and professionals. 
    9. Functions as an integral member of the clinical interdisciplinary team.
    10. Maintains registered dietitian (RD) status including continuing professional education.
    11. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Food/Nutrition Services; this may include assistance in the kitchen as time and needs dictate.
     
    Minimum Qualifications:
     
    1. Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, or comparable major 
    2. Licensed as a Registered Dietitian by the State of Ohio
    3. Certified as a Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
    4. Ability to enthusiastically follow and model the Lindner Center of HOPE mission, vision and values.
    5. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for the spectrum of populations admitted to LCOH.
     
    Preferred Qualifications
    1. 2-3 years experience in a patient care environment preferred.
    2. Experience in eating disorder treatment preferred.
    3. In depth knowledge of normal and therapeutic nutrition is required
    4. Ability to assess nutritional status and develop comprehensive care plans for all levels of nutritional risk patients is required
     
    Physical Requirements:
     
    Employees must be able to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis, and be able to stand or walk about 90% of a work shift.  Must be able to see, talk and hear coworkers and patients and others.
     
     
    All candidates extended conditional offer of employment will be subject to a WebCheck (BCI & FBI Fingerprinting). Fingerprints will be submitted to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The reports from these agencies will include criminal record information.  Lindner Center of HOPE will follow the requirements for employment based on the State of Ohio Administrative Code 5122-30-31, and any other regulatory requirements regarding criminal background checks. Lindner Center of HOPE also reserves the right to obtain Consumer Reports and/or Investigative Consumer Reports as defined in the Federal Fair Credit Reporting ACT (FCRA).
