    Clinical Supervisor - Postpartum

    Location: Valley Presbyterian Hospital

    Lead Exceptional Patient Care

    Valley Presbyterian Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Supervisor to provide clinical leadership and operational oversight while ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. In this role, you will serve as a clinical expert, mentor, and shift leader, partnering with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to promote exceptional patient outcomes, staff engagement, and operational excellence.

    What Youll Do

    • Provide clinical leadership and oversight during assigned shifts.
    • Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff while serving as a clinical resource and role model.
    • Coordinate patient care activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care delivery.
    • Manage staffing assignments, scheduling, and patient throughput based on census and acuity.
    • Facilitate timely admissions, transfers, and discharges to optimize patient flow.
    • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to resolve patient care issues and improve outcomes.
    • Lead shift huddles, charge nurse meetings, and unit-based councils.
    • Promote evidence-based practice and support quality improvement initiatives.
    • Monitor compliance with documentation, regulatory, and patient safety requirements.
    • Conduct chart audits and follow up on occurrence reports and performance improvement activities.
    • Serve as a patient experience champion by rounding on patients and families, addressing concerns, and promoting a culture of compassionate care.
    • Ensure appropriate use of SBAR communication during patient handoffs.
    • Support conflict resolution and foster collaboration among patients, families, physicians, and staff.
    • Maintain adequate supplies, equipment, and staffing resources throughout the shift.
    • Assist with orientation, mentoring, and professional development of new and existing staff.

    What You Bring

    • Two (2) to five (5) years of acute care Registered Nurse experience in the specialty area.
    • Previous Charge Nurse experience preferred
    • Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
    • Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict resolution abilities.
    • Strong organizational and operational management skills.
    • Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and staff development.
    • Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

    Requirements

    • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
    • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
    • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 30 days of hire.
    • Fetal Monitoring certification within 30 days of hire.
    • Annual Nursing Care Stroke Education completed within 30 days of hire or transfer.
    • Active participation as a leader or member of a hospital-wide committee or council preferred.
