Schedule: Full-time, with at least 4 hours a day overlapping US Eastern Time

Compensation: Typical range for these roles: USD 100,000 to 150,000 per year. We share the exact range of each role with you before we introduce you to any company.

Description

We are seeking Cloud Automation Engineers who turn manual cloud work into tested, reviewable code. In the roles we place, you provision infrastructure as code, script against cloud provider APIs, build serverless and event-driven workflows, and automate compliance checks for US companies running on AWS or Azure.

This is cloud infrastructure work. It is not QA test automation or industrial automation.

This role fits engineers working today as Cloud, DevOps, Platform, Site Reliability or Infrastructure Automation Engineers who spend much of their time writing automation.

Duties / Tasks to perform

• Automate the provisioning and configuration of cloud infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Write scripts and tools in Python or PowerShell that work with cloud provider APIs
• Build serverless and event-driven automations with services such as AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions and Azure Functions
• Automate compliance checks and produce audit evidence
• Identify manual operational tasks and replace them with tested automation
• Keep automation code under version control, with testing and peer review
• Support incident response for automated systems
• Document automations, operating procedures and knowledge base articles

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience automating cloud infrastructure or operations
• Hands-on experience with Terraform or CloudFormation
• Scripting in Python or PowerShell, including work with cloud APIs
• Experience with serverless services on AWS or Azure
• Experience with identity and access management (IAM) in the cloud
• Clear written and spoken English
• Availability to work at least 4 hours a day overlapping US Eastern Time
• Based in the United States and authorized to work here
• Configuration management with Ansible (a plus)
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, PCI-DSS or HIPAA (a plus)

Licenses and Certifications

Not required. The following are valued:

• AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer (Associate), including the older SysOps Administrator, or AWS Certified Developer (Associate)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
• HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
